DJ Spectakulah

DJ Spectakulah is a world-class turntablist, producer, and educator with over 20 years of experience shaping DJ culture. A veteran of the battle scene, his early career highlights include becoming a 1999 Philadelphia DMC Champion, USA DMC Runner-Up, and part of the 1999 ITF Western Hemisphere Team Champions.

Known for his razor-sharp skills and relentless drive, Spectakulah returned to competition in recent years, winning the 2023 DMC Scratch Finals, taking runner-up at the Hip-Hop 50th Anniversary DJ Battle in Times Square, and claiming the 2024 NAMM Battle Royale title.

Beyond the battles, his creative work spans decades. He co-released D-Day with the Allies Crew (Asphodel Records, 2000), co-founded Tablist Magazine—the world’s first turntablism-focused publication—and produced music for artists like Lil Wayne, Curren$y, and Immortal Technique.

Spectakulah has performed worldwide—from East Asia tours with DJ Craze to major events like the Latin Grammy Festival, Lincoln Park Music Festival, and Royal Caribbean cruises. He’s shared the stage with icons including Pharoahe Monch and collaborated with top brands like State Farm, Donna Karan, and Salvation Army.

A passionate educator, he’s taught at Scratch DJ Academy, Dubspot, and Sound Collective, where he also works as a tech assistant. He’s helped shape the future of DJing through roles at Digital DJ Pool and mydjcloud.com as a DJ relations specialist.

Today, DJ Spectakulah is a resident DJ and curator on CTRL, ALT, D-stroy (SHADE45 / SiriusXM / Pandora), continuing to inspire the next generation while keeping the art of turntablism front and centre.
